Descensor Engine Demo

Here you can download a demo of the Descensor engine. Certain engine features are disabled in the demo. If you are interested in the Descensor engine/editor and you would like to see a full Demo, please contact us.

System requirements:

CPU: 800 MHz P3 or AMD Athlon (2 GHz P4 or AMD Athlon XP 1800+ recommended)
128 MB RAM (256 MB or more recommended)
16MB (32 MB recommended) graphics board with DirectX 8.1 (or higher) compatible drivers (Geforce3/4/FX, ATI Radeon 9200 or better recommended)
2 MB free disk space, keyboard, mouse
OS: Win98, Win98 SE, Win ME, Win 2000 or Win XP (Home and Professional)
DirectX8.1 (or higher) installed (download it here)

Installation:

Simply unzip all files to the desired location on your hard drive (extract with subfolder hierarchy!). Then start "DescensorDemo.exe" in subdirectory "bin".

VERY IMPORTANT: MAKE SURE YOUR GRAPHICS CARD IS CONFIGURED TO USE A HIGH Z-BUFFER DEPTH (DIRECTX TAB UNDER THE ADVANCED GRAPHICS CARD SETTINGS). IDEALLY YOU SHOULD SET THE Z-BUFFER DEPTH TO 32 BITS, BUT IF IT IS NOT SUPPORTED BY YOUR CARD THE DEMO ALSO RUNS WITH 24 OR 16 BITS Z-BUFFER. SOME OLD CARDS MIGHT NOT HAVE ENOUGH MEMORY OR MIGHT NOT ALLOW SELECTING THE Z-BUFFER DEPTH; IN THAT CASE TRY REDUCING THE BITS PER PIXEL TO 16 AND THE RESOULTION TO 800x600.

Quick instructions

You can run the demo automatically if you select "Navigation->Autopilot" in the menu bar. Otherwise the camera movement is manually controlled as follows:

v/V decrease/increase camera step size
Up/Down move camera forwards/backwards a step
ALT+Up/Down move camera up/down a step
Left/Right turn camera direction left/right
CTRL+Up/Down turn camera direction up/down
